ASU pleased to announce the Spouses of Military Veterans Tuition Scholarship. This award ensures tuition and fees are covered for ASU students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree and are married to an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Armed Forces.

Lisa and Rick Ampil Scholarship
The Pat Tillman Veterans Center is very excited to announce the opening of the Lisa and Rick Ampil Scholarship! Lisa an ASU alum and veteran spouse, and Rick an Army veteran, are dedicated to the success of our ASU military-connected learners. They have created this scholarship to help our military/veteran spouses attended ASU. Scholarships are based on a student’s financial need, academic performance, and potential to complete their program of study.

Fox – Pat Tillman Veterans Center Scholarship
Through the Fox Corporation’s generous gift, the Fox - Pat Tillman Veterans Center Scholarship was established to offer multiple scholarships to student veterans attending ASU Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Fox Corporation is devoted to the success of student veterans majoring in journalism and/or mass communication. Awards will be based on student’s resume, essays, letter of recommendation, and the potential to complete their program of study.

2024 Salute to Service Honor Award Scholarship
Through the gifts of generous sponsors, the 2024 Salute to Service Honor Award Scholarship was created to offer multiple scholarships to student veterans to support their higher education journey. These sponsors include Honeywell and SRP are devoted to the success of student veterans nationally and at Arizona State University. Scholarships are based on a student’s financial need, academic performance, and potential to complete their program of study. Awards will cover the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025, equally disbursed.

Goldwater Scholarship
The Goldwater Scholarship supports students pursuing research careers in mathematics, science, and engineering. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 for educational costs, as well as immense prestige, which can position the student well for later fellowships and admission to top-tier graduate programs. Each college or university in the US may nominate up to four students per year, but the program recently expanded its policies to allow a fifth nomination if the student is a veteran. Eligible candidates would be sophomore or junior STEM majors who aspire to doctoral degrees and careers in STEM research. Strong applicants will have a high GPA and undergraduate research experience. Interested students can view our recent information session and consult our application instructions for specific requirements. The deadline to apply for nomination is November 25.
Truman Scholarship
Aimed at students committed to careers in public service, the Truman Scholarship is an excellent fit for veterans who plan to continue serving their communities and country through careers in government or non-profit sectors. The scholarship provides up to $30,000 towards eligible graduate or professional school degrees, as well as substantial leadership development programming and access to high-level internships in Washington DC. Each college or university may nominate up to four students per year. Eligible candidates would be undergraduate juniors with demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to public service; the scholarship is open to students in any major, and there is no minimum GPA. Interested students can view our “Truman in Ten” video and consult our application instructions for specific requirements. The deadline to apply for nomination is November 25.
Boren Awards
A program of the National Security Education Program (which is sponsored by the Department of Defense), the Boren Awards fund study abroad experiences that focus on critical language study. The Boren Scholarship, which is offered to undergraduate students, provides up to $25,000, and the Boren Fellowship, for graduate students, offers up to $30,000. Applicants must be endorsed by ASU, but there is no limit to the number of students who may apply. Eligible candidates would be undergraduate or graduate students who wish to study a foreign language deemed ‘critical’ to US national security interests. Strong preference is given to candidates who aspire to careers in the federal government related to national security. Special initiatives exist for applicants who participate in ROTC and Language Flagship programs. Interested students can view our Critical Foreign Languages Fellowships info session and consult our application instructions for specific requirements.
