Veteran video highlights
For years Arizona State University student veterans have participated in a retreat in the Colorado Rockies, communing with nature and experiencing a perspective shift to more fully re-enter civilian life. Now ASU’s Office of Veteran and Military Academic Engagement (OVMAE) and the Pat Tillman Veterans Center have teamed up to adopt that model for its student veteran population swapping the mountainous Rockies for Arizona’s high country. It’s called Treks for Vets, the Arizona Warriors’ Wilderness Journey.
The PTVC celebrated its tenth year serving veteran students and families at ASU. With five locations across all of ASU campuses — the center assists students with their veteran education benefits and fosters a community for military personnel to gather and find support
Ten years ago, a small but dedicated group of individuals prioritized student veteran success at ASU The PTVC started as a single row of cubicles and now spans the university campuses with five total locations. Hear from the team that helped make it all happen.
