VA Work-Study Program

VA Work-study positions are available at the Pat Tillman Veterans Center. Our mission is to enhance the experience of military-connected students at ASU. We rely on talented students who are eager to assist their fellow veterans and dependents.

Non-remote positions are now open at the Tempe, Downtown Phoenix, Polytechnic, and West Valley campuses in the following areas:

  • Customer Service Team: This team manages walk-in traffic, answers phone calls, and handles back-office processing for VA benefits.

  • Student Success Teams: Help newly admitted students transition into ASU by assisting with educational benefits and locating resources like housing. Alternatively, join a team focused on public speaking, communication, marketing, media (video, blogs, vlogs, web development, radio, etc.), or event planning.

  • Development Team: Support the Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships in securing funding for PTVC programs. Candidates should have intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, and be comfortable working independently or in small teams. Data analysis skills are a plus.

  • Innovation Team: Contribute to content creation for PTVC's AI-enabled chatbot, improve processing platforms, streamline processes, and provide data for dashboards. This role is ideal for individuals interested in cutting-edge technology, with a strong emphasis on English, editing, and technical skills.

  • Financial Team: Collaborate directly with ASU's Financial Aid office on processing tasks related to military-connected students. Ideal for those pursuing a career in accounting and finance.

Application Process: To qualify, applicants must be actively using VA educational benefits at ASU with a minimum ¾ time rate of pursuit during any semester. Successful candidates may have the opportunity to renew their contracts for subsequent semesters, depending on benefit availability.

Interested applicants should complete VA Form 22-8691, and submit it with a resume and cover letter indicating their preferred team and reasons for interest. Positions are part-time, requiring a minimum of 15 hours per week and a maximum of 25 hours per week, paying the state of Arizona's minimum wage tax-free.
