**Chapter 33 Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) is paid when the student's Rate of Pursuit (ROP) is more than 50%. Students at ROP 50% or less will not qualify for MHA. MHA is paid directly to the student at the beginning of each month, for the previous month's enrollment. Active-duty personnel receiving Chapter 33 benefits are not eligible for the housing allowance.
***Rate of Pursuit defined by the VA - is how much you are attending school. The VA will pay you a percentage of MHA based on how many credits you’re taking per term you’re scheduled to attend per week, compared to full-time enrollment.
