Treks for Vets
For years Arizona State University student veterans have participated in a retreat in the Colorado Rockies, communing with nature and experiencing a perspective shift to more fully re-enter civilian life. Now ASU’s Office of Veteran and Military Academic Engagement (OVMAE) and the Pat Tillman Veterans Center have teamed up to adopt that model for its student veteran population swapping the mountainous Rockies for Arizona’s high country. It’s called Treks for Vets, the Arizona Warriors’ Wilderness Journey.
What Student Veterans Bring to the University Community: Golden Conversations
In this Golden Conversation, Erik V., a student veteran, and Michelle L., director of student success and partnerships for the Pat Tillman Veterans Center, discuss all aspects of being a student veteran on campus, including why it is important that student veterans and traditional students learn from each other.
The Spouse Experience
To celebrate Military Spouse Appreciation Day, ASU Pat Tillman Veterans Center hosted a panel of ASU staff, students and alums who shared their experiences while serving in the military and continuing their service at ASU. The panel is focused on awareness and a call for action.
