Reminder: Deloitte CORE Fundamentals 

If you haven’t already, be sure to register for Deloitte’s CORE Fundamentals training on Sept. 20 or 21. The RSVP deadline is Sept. 6. This high-energy, hands-on learning program is designed to equip veterans and transitioning service members with resources to find and obtain an ideal career in the civilian workforce. Get prepped for interviews and networking before attending the university career fairs this semester. Learn more.

The first session is Friday, Sept. 20, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. on the Tempe campus, and the second session is Saturday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. on the Downtown Phoenix campus. Further details will be provided after registration. Register by emailing corefundamentalsprogram@deloitte.com and indicate ASU as your program session, as well as which of the two ASU sessions you will be attending.

 

Register for the Heroes Run

The Travis Manion Foundation is hosting their annual 9/11 Heroes Run 5K and 1M fun run/walk on ASU’s Polytechnic campus on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019. You’ll have the chance to join fellow veterans, first responders and their families at a fun and family-friendly event! Register and learn more

 

Veterans Scholar Program deadline extended

There is still time to apply for the Veterans Scholar Program. The application deadline has been extended to Sunday, Sept. 15. Enhance your ASU experience and your academic, professional and civic impact. Students in the last year or two of their degree programs are encouraged to apply for this opportunity. 

 

Save the date: Arizona Fall League game night

The Pat Tillman Veterans Center is hosting an Arizona Fall League baseball game at the Salt River Fields in Scottsdale on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be free, and family and friends are welcome to attend. Veterans center Director Steve Borden will be throwing the first pitch, and Senior Military Advocate Shawn Banzhaf will be singing the national anthem. You won't want to miss out on this fun and family-friendly community event! More details coming soon.

Maximizing Your Benefits Workshop

Do you fully understand all you get with your VA education benefits and how they work at ASU? Troy Rundle, VetSuccess on Campus counselor, leads VA education benefits workshops to help you understand the basics and how to use your benefits to their fullest potential. Troy will host two sessions at each campus, one in the morning from 10 a.m. to noon, and one in the afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m., as well as a webinar option. RSVP by Friday, Sept. 6 by emailing troy.rundle@va.gov.

Do you have questions about the federal job application process? It can be tricky. If you would like tips and advice on how to develop the best resume for federal jobs, be sure to attend the upcoming USAJobs Federal Resume Workshop on Monday, Sept. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m., hosted by the Pat Tillman Veterans Center.
