Legacy of Service

A U.S. Presidential Proclamation in 2012 called for the observance of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War from May 28 of that year to November 11, 2025. In support of the proclamation, Arizona State University dedicates Salute to Service 2017 to the generation of men and women who bravely served in Vietnam.

Legacy of Service

ASU’s Salute to Service 2017 particularly honors those who served in the Vietnam War.

This year’s theme — Legacy of Service — honors the devotion of the more than 3 million Americans who served during the conflict, and exalts the more than 58,000 who made the ultimate sacrifice. We also recognize the enduring legacy of all other patriots who have worn the nation’s uniform in peacetime and war — past and present — and their selfless families

What can I do to honor the legacy of service of our veterans?

What you can do to honor a veteran

Many of us are unsure of how to be a part of Salute to Service other than going to the football, basketball or volleyball games. That’s a great way to start, but here are a few ideas to help you honor a veteran you know or one you don’t.
