Legacy of Service
ASU’s Salute to Service 2017 particularly honors those who served in the Vietnam War.
What can I do to honor the legacy of service of our veterans?
This year’s theme — Legacy of Service — honors the devotion of the more than 3 million Americans who served during the conflict, and exalts the more than 58,000 who made the ultimate sacrifice. We also recognize the enduring legacy of all other patriots who have worn the nation’s uniform in peacetime and war — past and present — and their selfless families.
Many of us are unsure of how to be a part of Salute to Service other than going to the football, basketball or volleyball games. That’s a great way to start, but here are a few ideas to help you honor a veteran you know or one you don’t.
Write a veteran or current servicemember to thank them for protecting our freedom.
Attend one of the Salute to Service events and be sure to let a veteran or servicemember there know you are grateful.
